In 2012, an idea of the creation of the student radio show that will be broadcasted on TV Radio Unios ETFOS (TRUE) appeared, so two teams were gathered that, since then, have been editing a radio show called Geeks on a Plane. The short format show brings news from the world of IT and technology through the perspective of students of the University. As the first show airing on a regular basis, Geeks on a Plane is, in a way, the beginning of a larger development of TRUE, which will, through expansion in the permanent radio frequency, offer students an alternative to large commercial radio stations. Students are enabled, through this and similar radio shows, to conduct volunteer work and to educate, and, at the same time, the tangible progress of promoting radio culture at the University of Osijek is achieved. Also, by broadcasting on HRT radio Osijek, radio UNIDU Dubrovnik and via the Internet at www.radio.etfos.hr, the voice of the students and the University of Osijek spreads every Thursday evening outside the city of Osijek.

Altruistic engagement of students refers to numerous volunteer activities, such as helping the disabled and the sick as well. In addition to professional development, through associations, students get the opportunity for spiritual, humanitarian, and ethical development.

In addition to the aforementioned, students can participate in the work of the Student Union, which is a legitimate student electoral representative body that protects the interests of students, takes part in decision-making in the Senate and professional councils of constituents of the University of Osijek, and represents students in higher education.
