Dario Ferić, officer for bilateral, multilateral and international cooperation of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, and Erasmus+ coordinator, realised a 5-day long visit within the Erasmus+ mobility programme at Universidade Lusófona do Porto, in Portugal. Portugal is a country that receives every year the most of University of Osijek’s outgoing Erasmus+ students and with which the University of Osijek has excellent cooperation.
Universidade Lusófona do Porto is the largest private university in Portugal with more than 25,000 students with which Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek has closed several interinstitutional Erasmus+ agreements for the subject areas of law, information and communication technologies, management and performing arts. Dario Ferić’s host at Universidade Lusófona do Porto was his colleague Janet Dias from the International, Career & Entrepreneurship Office, whom he job-shadowed during five days of mobility in her daily activities related to organisation of Erasmus+ mobilities. In addition, he learned about procedures and methods referring to provision of international services and he also engaged in strengthening of contacts and expanding of cooperation between the University of Osijek and Universidade Lusófona do Porto.
The main objective of Dario Ferić’s mobility was to determine a framework for continuation of Erasmus+ cooperation within the new programme period until 2027, which was achieved successfully as it was agreed to extend the existing interinstitutional agreements for the new Erasmus+ programme period (2021-2027) in the subject areas of law, information and communication technologies, management and performing arts, and to establish cooperation in new subject areas as well. During his visit, Dario Ferić attended several meetings with other host University officers working in the International Cooperation Service, as well as with former participants in international events and mobility programmes. By exchanging the experiences, he collected information about the procedures of applying for mobility and signing of Erasmus+ mobility agreements that are applicable at Universidade Lusófona do Porto. He also learned about the host University internal procedures, and discussed the outcomes of international mobility and its impact on staff performance, as well as on students and their studies.
